We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Project Controls Apprentice professional. This position offers hands-on training and mentorship in project controls and project management, providing a unique opportunity for growth and development within the field. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals to learn key skills and gain practical experience in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand safety and security at the Savannah River Site and other government facilities
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
  • Support project managers in tracking project expenses and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints
  • Learn to monitor project progress and milestones, identifying potential risks and delays
  • Assist in the analysis of project data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project goals and objectives
  • Prepare and present project status reports under the guidance of senior professionals
  • Learn to implement and utilize project management tools and systems, such as Primavera P6 and Cobra Cost Processor, to support project control activities
  • Understand Project change management and Baseline change proposals
  • Understand and use Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles
  • Understand and create project estimates

 Qualifications:

  • AA/AS in a related field and 2 years of experience; or BA/BS in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • College coursework in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or related field is a plus
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in project controls
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Eligibility to Work Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Background check required
  • Must be able to pass an initial and random drug tests
  • Must be 19 years of age by May 30, 2024

Pay: $20.00 – $22.50 per hour
