Senior Project Controls Scheduler

Position Overview

This position is for an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Senior Project Scheduler for a DOE client. The Senior Project Scheduler job functions include development and maintenance of integrated, resource loaded, project schedules (Primavera P6) using critical path method techniques in compliance with Earned Value Management System (EIA-748) guidelines. Extensive experience with EVMS (EIA-748) is required for this position.

The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Maintain standardized scheduling processes
  • Combine working schedules aligned with the proposed technical approach to form a single integrated schedule
  • Oversee development of schedule by schedulers
  • Work with Estimating to ensure smooth, error-free integration of P6 activities with Cobra
  • Participate in review process and ensure comments and feedback are implemented
  • Lead Plan of the Day and Plan of the Week schedule meetings
  • Analyze schedule data for baseline change control, variance analyses, horizontal and vertical coordination, and integration of schedule logic
  • Align baseline activities with daily implementation activities
  • Develop schedules and estimates to support Baseline Change Requests
  • Develop and maintain Control Account level schedules
  • Identify trends and deviations to cost and schedule performance, impacts and recommends corrective actions.
  • Support Control Account Manager analysis of earned value data and explanation of variances
  • Meet with on-site technical experts, review existing documentation, and interface with internal and customer stakeholders
  • Coach and lead on-site personnel to ensure technical experts gain the required understanding of the project schedules

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in a related field and 9 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 9 – 12 years.
  • Extensive Primavera P6 Experience required
  • Earned Value Management System experience required
  • Deltek Cobra Experience Preferred
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understands the fundamental concepts of Scheduling and Project Controls
  • Experience in Government contracts is preferred
